Icons describe general node roles, inferred from node types. Inspect the parameters for the configured action.

Drag to pan; use + and − to zoom. Reconstructed from the exported node positions; nothing runs here. Dashed lines represent non-main connections. Full node names and notes appear below.

How it works

The exported workflow contains the following configured nodes. Their connections are shown above; inspect the JSON for the complete logic, expressions, and external actions.

Setup

  1. Download the JSON and import it into an isolated n8n instance. Leave the workflow inactive.
  2. Connect your own credentials through n8n’s credential store. Replace REPLACE_WITH_* values with your resource identifiers.
  3. Inspect API destinations, Code nodes, database queries, file paths, and outbound actions.
  4. Run with synthetic data and harmless destinations. Enable triggers only after checking the actual outputs.

Requirements

An n8n instance with the listed node types and compatible versions. Service-connected workflows may require accounts, credentials, or paid APIs.

Credential types declared in the source

  • n8nApi
  • openAiApi

Workflow notes

Main Docsify webhook

Main Docsify webhook

In response, n8n serves the main html page with the Docsify JS library

Single page requests

Single page requests

  • Docsify may request default pages (i.e. readme.md or a summary.md)
  • GET request for the workflow documentation pages
  • POST request for saving manually edited doc page
EDIT THIS!

EDIT THIS!

  • project_path to link to a writable directory that is accessible to n8n
  • update instance_url when running in the cloud version. If using in self-hosted mode, make sure N8N_PROTOCOL and N8N_HOST .env variables are correct
Construct main HTML page and send it back to the user

Construct main HTML page and send it back to the user

  • HTML_headers and HTML_docsify_include are stored in the CONFIG node for the page simplicity
Serve main Markdown table with the workflow overview

Serve main Markdown table with the workflow overview

NOTE! Here we don't reply with HTML content. Only Markdown elements are sent back and processed by the JS library

  • Create an overall table when README.md (the home page) is requested
  • Create a table with a subset of workflows when a tag from a navigation pane is selected
Serve left pane content

Serve left pane content

  • Here all workflows are fetched again when summary.md file is requested.

It contains Markdown for the left navigation pane: a list of all tags

Handle missing pages

Handle missing pages

Serve the Markdown content with the requested file name for edge cases, i.e. any unexpected files

Custom markdown editor

Custom markdown editor

This is another HTML page for the live Markdown editor

  • Mermaid.js is supported
  • Docsify preview on edit
  • Save or Cancel buttons
Save new file

Save new file

Once the doc page is generated or edited manually, a Markdown files is saved in the directory

Load existing doc file

Load existing doc file

Check the existing file when the View or Edit button is pressed

If the file is not available, then:

If the file is not available, then:

  • either auto-generate new doc
  • prepare a basic template for editing

Purpose and structure

This folder contains the Docsify example workflow. Its executable nodes use chainLlm, code, convertToFile, executeCommand, extractFromFile, html, if, lmChatOpenAi, merge, n8n, noOp, outputParserAutofixing, outputParserStructured, readWriteFile, respondToWebhook, set, sort, switch, webhook. The table and connection map below are derived from the JSON, not an inferred guarantee of behavior.

Setup

Import inactive. Configure your own credentials and replace REPLACE_WITH_* values. Review external destinations and Code nodes before running.
